One night when we returned from Atlanta, Lady Bast started coughing or sneezing, we really couldn’t tell what was happening with her. It wasn’t a constant sound but when it happened it was loud, we all froze, listened closely, and just seemed to brace ourselves in an uncomfortable way. This went on for a couple of hours and finally I decided to call her vet who I absolutely love, and they recommended that we take her here. It was close to midnight when I placed the call and they told me to bring her in right away.

When we arrived it was quiet and a bit cold inside the building. All night I wished I’d brought a sweater or a jacket, it was that cold. A couple of receptionist’s were sitting behind the counter seeming to be enjoying their night with each other. They were very friendly, helpful and extremely attentive to us. While I was filling out the paper work a nurse came and got our little kitty. My older son, husband, and I watched as they took her in her cage into another section of the hospital. Because we didn’t know what to expect it was a very uncomfortable moment for us all but the receptionists assured us that everything was going to be alright, that she was in good hands. We’ve had Lady Bast since she was a few weeks old. She’s very much an integral part of our family. If anything were to happen to her it would be like it was happening to one of us. Pets are truly loved ones.

We sat down and waited for about five minutes before they called us to the back to join Bast. After examining her they couldn’t find anything wrong. They said her lungs sounded clear and that there wasn’t any sign of a problem. They said her breathing was kind of heavy and that could be because she was nervous about being there but all was well. This was great news to hear and to know that she was okay. Since then we haven’t had that kind of scare with her and knowing if we did we could take her to a place we trust and feel very comfortable with feels wonderful. On our way in another family was leaving with their two dogs and spoke very highly about the hospital as this wasn’t their first time having to visit.
