Rob Benbow, DVM

Dr. Benbow has dedicated more than 17 years to the veterinary profession, beginning his career in the kennel and working his way through nearly every aspect of veterinary medicine before becoming an emergency veterinarian in 2011. His diverse career has taken him to three countries and provided experience across numerous specialties, including Emergency & Critical Care, Surgery, Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Ophthalmology, and Exotic Animal Medicine.

His passion lies in emergency medicine, where he enjoys the challenge of triaging, stabilizing, and treating critically ill patients. His professional interests include critical case management, particularly sepsis, diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), and congestive heart failure. He is committed to providing rapid, evidence-based care while helping families navigate some of the most stressful moments in their pets' lives.
Outside of the hospital, Dr. Benbow is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys offshore fishing, especially for permit and mutton snapper, scuba diving, cooking, traveling, and staying active in the gym. When he's not in the ER, you'll most likely find him on the water planning his next fishing adventure.
